Beginner Class

Experience the art of shaping clay on the potter’s wheel in our Wheel Throwing Workshop. Learn the essential techniques of centering, pulling, and forming clay to create your own pottery piece under the guidance of our skilled instructors.

Once you’ve shaped your piece, you will get the chance to paint and decorate your artwork using underglazes –  adding your personal touch with colours, patterns, or simple brushstrokes.

This hands-on session is perfect for beginners and anyone looking to explore the meditative flow of wheel work. You’ll gain a deeper appreciation for the balance between control and creativity as you transform a lump of clay into a functional ceramic form.

All materials, tools, and glazing are provided. Your finished piece will be fired and glazed by our team, ready for collection after completion.

Duration: 2 hours
Suitable for: Beginners and all skill levels (ages 7 and above)
Includes: Clay, tools, painting materials, glazing, and firing
Attire: Comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting a little messy; aprons will be provided
Take Home: 1 handcrafted and hand-painted pottery piece made by you
Collection: Your finished piece will be glazed, fired, and ready for collection in approximately 5 weeks after the workshop

What You will Be Making

During this session, you will create your own wheel-thrown pottery piece – guided step by step by our instructor. You’ll learn how to shape and form clay on the potter’s wheel to make items such as:

  • A cup or small bowl

  • A mini vase

  • A mini plate

After shaping, you’ll get to paint your piece using underglazes, adding colours and patterns that reflect your style. Your artwork will be glazed and fired after the session, ready for collection once completed.
