Most kids birthday parties are over in 90 minutes and forgotten in a week. Pottery birthday classes do the opposite. The activity itself is novel (kids have not done it before), it photographs beautifully, and every child walks out with a piece they will use at home for years. The birthday photos with the finished pieces become the social-media-worthy shot of the season.
Standard birthday booking is 2 hours: 90 minutes of guided pottery activity (hand building works best for kid groups), then 30 minutes for cake, presents, and photos. We can theme the activity to the birthday kids favourite character or theme — dinosaurs, princesses, sea creatures, robots. Tell us when you book.
Sweet spot is 6 to 12 kids. Larger groups up to 20 kids work but need 2 instructors. Smaller groups under 6 kids feel a bit thin — we recommend bumping it up by inviting a few cousins. Adult helpers welcome but optional — our instructors can fully manage the group.
You can bring a birthday cake (we have a small fridge in most studios), party decorations, and a phone or camera for photos. Our PJ SS2, USJ Subang, and Sri Hartamas studios have great natural light for photos. We do not provide catering — bring snacks if you want, or plan a meal at a nearby cafe afterwards.
Beyond birthday parties, we run regular monthly kids pottery classes (4 sessions per month) and family pottery sessions for ongoing creative development.
Per-child pricing depends on the activity (hand building is most kid-friendly): RM119 per child for hand-building class with all materials, instruction, and kiln firing included. Birthday party of 10 kids would be roughly RM1,190 total. Private studio buyout pricing available for larger or more exclusive parties — ask for a quote.
Hand-building parties work for ages 4 and up. Wheel-throwing parties for ages 7 and up. We have hosted birthdays from 5-year-olds (turning 5) up to 13-year-old tween parties. Each age group has different vibe, our instructors adapt.
Yes. Most birthday-kid parents stay for the duration. We have a separate area for parents to chat and watch from a distance. Parents are welcome to participate in the pottery activity if they want, or just watch.
About 5 weeks after the party. Drying takes 1 to 2 weeks, kiln firing 10 hours plus cooldown, glazing and second firing 5 to 7 days. We notify the parent when pieces are ready for collection at the studio.
Yes. Our instructors can suggest themed projects matching your kids interests — dinosaurs, unicorns, space, sports, characters. Tell us the theme when booking and we will plan the activity around it.
